Amrita Aggarwal, an experienced member of the AMNIe Expert Network, is a passionate storyteller and strategist dedicated to helping organizations achieve an equitable and sustainable future. With a background in fine arts and business, she brings a unique blend of skills as a natural facilitator and strategist. Amrita's goal is to create positive social change by leveraging her energy, enthusiasm, and expertise. She actively contributes to organizations like Lean In Canada and YWCA to foster inclusive and healthy communities. Amrita acknowledges and appreciates the cultural and historical context of the First Nations territories on which she resides.


Richard Smart, a 3rd generation bookbinder from London, England, is a master of his craft. In 2000, he established the Old English Bindery in Vancouver, Canada, and quickly gained recognition for his exceptional craftsmanship. Richard's expertise lies in creating exquisite and period-style bindings, honed through studies in gold-finishing techniques at Sangorski & Sutcliffe in London. He has worked on prestigious projects and created handcrafted designer bindings for notable clients like Charlton Heston, Hunter S. Thompson, and Mark Mothersbaugh. Notably, Richard was commissioned by the Government of Canada and the Department of Veteran's Affairs to bind the Seventh Book of Remembrance, preserving the memory of Canadian service men and women who died in military service.


While Amrita will be leading the session, Richard Smart, the esteemed bookbinder, will be working in the background on his restoration projects. You'll have the opportunity to witness a master at work as Richard focuses on his intricate craftsmanship and restoration work. Amrita will guide and facilitate the session, sharing her expertise and leading the participants in engaging discussions and activities. It will be a unique experience where you can learn from both Amrita's strategic insights and Richard's exceptional bookbinding skills.
